CompTIA Network+ is a vendor-neutral network certification for IT professionals. According to CompTIA, the exam “validates the essential knowledge and skills needed to confidently design, configure, manage and troubleshoot any wired and wireless networks.” So, what does vendor-neutral mean? It means that the certification is designed to represent networking technology in general and not just one specific manufacturer. This is different than say Cisco certification which is based on Cisco products, or a Microsoft certification that is based on Microsoft products.

The Network+, or Net+ as it is commonly known as, is an entry-level certification for IT professionals in the networking. It is designed to indicate approximately nine months of networking professional experience.
